How should I ask my mom if i can shave?

Heres what I did: I just started looking at my legs when my mom was around and started complaining about them..like "ugh my legs are so hairy and gross mom." "your so lucky you can shaveeee..then you dont have to worry about....(ect)" Or just be upfront and say mom can I shave. Im 13 and thats what I did(:
